How to arrive by train from a nearby airport

BY TRAIN

The Amtrak train is a convenient (and green!) way to get into Mystic, as it stops right in town! It is also possible to stop at New London Union Train Station which is a 25 minute taxi ride to the hotels. Amtrak offers services directly from New York City, Boston and TF Green Airport in Providence.

From John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York (JFK)
AirTrain + Long Island Railroad from JFK to Manhattan Penn Station:
From the airport, follow the signs to the AirTrain and take the Jamaica Station line. There, get on the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) train and go to Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan. Total travel time for this part is approximately 40 min and the cost is about $16.
Shuttle Busses from JFK to Manhattan Penn Station:
Two companies providing airport transportation, GoAirLink and SuperShuttle are ride-sharing services that have the door-to-door benefits of a taxi but are significantly cheaper. You will be assigned to a van with other passengers heading to the same general area as you. You can request GoAirLink and SuperShuttle from the Ground Transportation desk in the Baggage Claim area. You can also book online in advance. The cost is $20-$25 per person and travel time varies depending on final destinations of the passengers.
Amtrak Train from Penn Station in NY to New London Union Station in CT:
From Penn Station, take Amtrak to New London Union Train Station. Travel time is about 2 hours 40 min. Alternatively, you can get off the train at Mystic station (if available for that train service) and take a taxi to the hotels, which are less than 10 min away (Yellow Cab Co, 860.536.8888).

From Logan International Airport, Boston, MA (BOS)
From Boston Logan Airport board the MBTA (known as the “T” in the Boston area) Silver Line bus inbound to South Station. The T is free from Logan Airport inbound to South Station, taking approximately 30 min. Once you are at the train station, you can take an Amtrak train with or without reservations to New London Union Station (one-way ticket $30-$42 with prior reservation). Alternatively, you can get off the train at Mystic station (if available for that train service) and take a taxi to the hotels, which are less than 10 min away (Yellow Cab Co, 860.536.8888) or 20 min away from New London.

From TF Green Airport, Providence, RI (PVD)
Amtrak offers daily train service from TF Green Airport to Mystic, CT. The train station is next to the airport. A one-way ticket is approximately $20-$37. More trains will go to the New London Union Station (see above).
